The execution of Troy Davis shows a flaw in the judicial system in America?

Troy Davis ~ did Georgia rush to fast?

I have not been following the Troy Davis’ death row debacle due to the fact I have some faith that he would been granted a retrial. Oh that goes to show how ignorant I could be. Never again.

I think the Board of Parole and Pardon in the state of Georgia has too much power and it is time for a major overhaul in the laws that deals with the the way this Board operates. Honestly I think it should be an elected position because normally the governor has this kind of power but not in Georgia. 5 people lack compassionate.

Yet a crime happened and a police officer is dead. Troy Davis got his death warrant due to his association with the person that many believe is the actually triggerman and then there is the matter of hearsay. I always felt that hearsay was not allowable.

Citizens of the state of Georgia that are against the Death Penalty need to show the same amount of energy and dismay via taking actions. Citizens that are for the Death Penalty need to ask themselves how they would feel if they were in Troy Davis’ shoes. A crime is a crime but when people makes deals and whatnots they will sell their soul to avoid jail time or the lethal injection.

To take action starts with writing to your state representative and senator and put pressure on the Governor to pass the bill.

Right now the Governor has the power to appoint or remove a board member. I has not be successful in finding what are the qualifications to see on the board, but I would be very upset if they are just everyday citizen that does not have a juris doctorate in law or a license to practice law.

I can understand why in this state that is typical a GOP state made the law the way it is. The only way to change this is to change the law so a person on death row has a fair chance especially in a situation where the evidence and hearsay has run amok.

People get mad but they only get mad when it is too late to do anything, furthermore in order to progress forward as a society people need to be active all the time not just when it time to round up the crowd and raise a ruckus and get arrested. Don’t let Troy Davis’ execution be in vain but to be a starting point to change the flawed law to protect innocent people (and mind you there have been a great deal of innocent people doing time for a long time and only to be released due to DNA testing and the advance of modern CSI science.

In closing, there is good and bad. The action of the state does not reflect the average citizens of this state. Racism will always exist in America, but common sense will prevail one day to show that in order to have a fair judicial system all must be judge the same way regardless of their income/social status, and upbringing. An eye for an eye is one thing, but how do you trade a body for a body when the body in question is not 100% guilty?

My views on the Ortiz vs Mayweather’s fight.

Well 24/7 did a hell of a great job of promoting the fight and making Vicious Ortiz looking like he will have a successful defense against Mayweather and retains his title.

Little did I know any better. Floyd “$” Mayweather can walk the talk. In order to be the best fighter in boxing you must be an aggressor all time and never passive even when you make a mistake, you have keep on pressing. Ortiz’s effeminate moment of tranquility create a window of slight opportuntiy for Big $ Mayweather to do a lethal 1-2 punch and it was night night time for Oritz. I thought I heard a “Timber” after the 1st punch as I didnot even see the 2nd punch that made Ortiz fall.

Now a cheap shot would have been if Cortez the referee was in the middle of the two boxer and $ hit him; however Cortez in replay is heard saying “Let’s go” and was in the process of backing away and Mayweather’s eyes lit up because he caught Ortiz dead to rights and Mayweather actually paused before swunging that first powerful hook that stunned Ortiz and following with an even more lethal 2nd punch on Mayweather’s face.

The referee said time in and he was in the motion of getting the hell out of the way.

Meanwhile, Ortiz was in an effemminate state and his gloves were down. What would yall have done if you were in Mayweather’s position, wait till Ortiz’s eyes look at you or go ahead and send him night night because Ortiz allowed himself to get himself soft  and in a remorseful state after that intentional headbutt that he inflicted upon Mayweather? In hindsight Ortiz should have said that bromance shyt for the post-fight!

I actually rooted for Ortiz because I thought he had a chance but Mayweather the veteran was coming at him hard from the first round all the way to the 4th round. Ortiz prior to that headbutt actually had momumentum for him for that headbutt.

However, I am in amazement at Mayweather’s multiple streams of income earned from this fight. Somebody has been paying attention to Don King! Mayweather was paid $25m upfront, and second he got paid from 3 key sources of the fight – DirecTV, HBO and MGM all pay him some serious cash. Furthermore, Star Power (Mayweather’s promotions company) negotiated mutliple deals and what not. When all said and done he would have made between $50-$80 million dollars for that fight.

So the best deal in life is when you can leverage the power of your brand to get paid more than 3 time. And Floyd Mayweather is laughing all the way to the bank!
